reclaim may be a little pompous. actually, and for the most part, we take it before the bugs, nature and fungus get a hold. almost all the trees we mill have already found the ground from storm damage. the remainder has a terminal illness and we'd rather see it put to purpose.

timber needs to season. kiln drying and pressure treating expedite this process but we prefer to air dry. depending on the species, thickness, sap content and water percentage, this can take anywhere between 6 months and a number of years. good things come to those....etc

and then, perhaps just like the perfect malt whisky, and when the moisture content reads right, it's that amazing moment in which all your plans and dreams finally become real. when we plane that first board in a seasoned stack. to be perfectly honest, it's play time.
